Bicycle Barometer v2

Together with cyclists of Leuven, in an extensive co-design process (see previous post), we designed a playful but reliable interaction method of using a pressure sensitive floormat and an armrest with integrated button to navigate with a visualization on a LED display. A company in public LED signage, i.e. Q-lite further developed the prototype into a research product. The resulting Bicycle Barometer is deployed by the province of Vlaams Brabant in Belgium to evaluate cyclists’ experiences with cycle highways.
